About The Desert Woodcarving Show
We, as a group of artists, woodcarvers, and woodworkers have organized the Desert Woodcarving Show & Sale for the purpose of education, promotion, recognition and acceptance of woodcarving, wood sculpture, and woodworking as an art form. We strive to advance individual talents and knowledge of woodcarving as a hobby and as an art form by promoting public displays and competition of woodcarvings, wood sculptures, and/or other wood art. We sponsor the Desert Woodcarving Show, along with the associated seminars and classes, to educate the public, to help people get started into the art, and to provide an opportunity to exchange ideas to advance the carvers' talents. We particularly try to encourage youth and novice carvers in their efforts. We hope that our promotion of close camaraderie along with the exchange of ideas and techniques will benefit the carving community and the community as a whole. Above all we strive to provide a fun social learning environment
The Desert Woodcarving Show & Sale was originally located in Phoenix. In 2003 the show moved to the great Mesa location: Mesa Centennial Hall at 201 North Center Street. This location is handicap-accessible and has street-level entry for vendors.

The Desert Woodcarving Show & Sale is jointly produced by the Grand Canyon State Woodcarvers, Inc. (a 501(c)3 a non-profit organization) and the Arizona Woodcarvers Association. Anyone with an interest, or possible interest, in woodcarving is welcome at any and all club meetings.
